Day 28 for the 30-Day Bride

Shauna of City Girl Cakes flew in last night to get started on Cachelle Fry’s wedding cake, rumour has it, there may actually be more than one. Turns out, the 30-Day Bride has yet another connection in the wedding industry, this one’s a cousin who is a cake designer in Halifax. She flew into Toronto yesterday to get to work creating a dream wedding cake in Cachelle’s mother’s kitchen. “I just hope she has enough room,” laughed the bride over the phone last week.

“Everyone has been saying just give me your ultimate dream version of your (fill in the blank with wedding item: cake, dress, invitation…)” says the lucky Cachelle who seems to have more friends in the industry that outside it, “we’ll work back from there,” she says, quoting her friends, “but we never do… I just keep asking for exactly what I want and pretty much getting it.”

This seems an apt time to address the importance of Fry’s connections in the industry for her to pull this wedding that promises to be spectacular off in less than a month. The nice thing is, she’s the first to point that out. Almost every conversation she’s had with us over the course of the past few weeks, she’s expressed how lucky she is and how her friends have rallied around her. Not too many people are in the same position and the success of this event will be a testament to Fry’s connections as much as her professional ability. In other words, don’t try this at home kids.
