30-Day Bride-Music

June 29, 2010  |  No Comments

The 30-Day Bride is Karina Lemke, a Toronto-based florist, wedding planner and TV host who decided on May 13 to tie the knot on July 1. For 30 consecutive days we’re tracking Karina and her fiancé, Mark Breslin (of Yuk Yuk’s fame), as they reveal their trials and tribulations. We’ll have all the juicy details leading up to, and including, their big day.

When it comes to weddings and the overall vibe, music is key (no pun intended). A fabulous band or DJ sets the tone for your entire affair and can mean the difference between having the odd couple bust a move or your entire party shakin’ it up on the dance floor (we always hope for the latter).

Woodie and The Longboards

Karina and Mark presumably had this in mind when they booked their band, Woodie and the Longboards, whom they discovered online at GigMasters.com. The ‘oldies’ band plays California rock and is influenced by the likes of The Beach Boys and The Bee Gees. “We’ve really hand-picked our ceremony and reception music to capture the feel of the beach,” says Karina. “We listened to some of their hits on YouTube and we’re confident our guests are going to have a great time!”
