The 30-Day Bride is Karina Lemke, a Toronto-based florist, wedding planner and TV host who decided on May 13 to tie the knot on July 1. For 30 consecutive days we’re tracking Karina and her fiancé, Mark Breslin (of Yuk Yuk’s fame), as they reveal their trials and tribulations. We’ll have all the juicy details leading up to, and including, their big day.

“Sixties Malibu beach bride with flow-y locks” is how Karina describes her ideal wedding hairstyle, and she’s confident that Katie at Beauty and the Beach can carry out her vision. The California-based company was another online find — the Internet is Karina’s BFF these days! — and they’ll be handling both her hair and makeup on the big day.

Karina was smart enough to have a hair and makeup trial done in advance at her favourite Toronto haunt, Featuring You. It was here that she discovered the look that she wanted and what was “too much” (she’s anti-princess). Karina plans to show some photos from her trial to Katie so that she can see first-hand what type of look she’s going for — and she’d highly recommend doing the same to any destination bride.
