30-Day Bride-The Photographer

The 30-Day Bride is Karina Lemke, a Toronto-based florist, wedding planner and TV host who decided on May 13 to tie the knot on July 1. For 30 consecutive days we’re tracking Karina and her fiancé, Mark Breslin (of Yuk Yuk’s fame), as they reveal their trials and tribulations. We’ll have all the juicy details leading up to, and including, their big day.

Whether you’re having an intimate, 25-person wedding or a grand affair with a guest list in the hundreds, it’s important to hire a professional photographer. As a wedding planner, Karina just happens to have a Rolodex filled with some of the best in the city. Most, however, are booked at least six months in advance (some up to a year), and Karina, well, let’s just say that time is not her side.

.

As fate would have it, one of Karina’s favourite photographers, Douglas Foulds, happened to be free the week of Karina and Mark’s wedding. Not that he planned on working that week. Douglas had booked the time off so that he could plan something special for his wife, Maureen, in celebration of their fifteenth wedding anniversary (and trust us, he had a lot of making up to do after dropping the ball on their fifth and tenth anniversaries).

.

When the call came in that Karina would like Douglas to photograph her wedding and that she’d provide transportation and accommodation, it didn’t take Douglas and Maureen long to say yes. What could be better than spending your anniversary in Laguna Beach, California, with the one you love, doing a job you’re passionate about and knowing you’re about document the most important day of someone’s life?

Stay tuned for exclusive photos of the big day on July 1.

  1. This is going to be a fabulous event. I love working with Karina, and I was humbled and honoured to be asked to cover one of the biggest days of her life with Mark. I knew I was setting aside the July long weekend for a reason . . . just not this particular reason. I can’t wait to share my vision with everyone “back ‘ome” so take Catherine advice and check back on July 2 for some first impressions of Karina and Mark’s adventure in southern California.

  2. I love this idea of pulling together a wedding in 30 days. Sometimes flying by the seat of your pants is the better way to go. And of course, I’m awaiting to see what beautiful wedding photos you’ll have. Have an amazing time and beautiful wedding in SoCal!
