A Stationer’s Wedding

We’ve been blogging about stationary over the past couple of days and so, in keeping with that theme, I wanted to share this beautiful wedding of stationer Joanna Stern and Sam Baimel, which took place on September 5 at Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto.

Joanna, along with her mother Julie, operates Smudge Designs — a design studio that specializes in capturing each client’s unique style and vision. It’s only natural that Joanna would design her own wedding invitation, though coming up with the final design was not easy. From the moment Joanna became engaged, she kept a book of ideas. Pulling all of those ideas together to create a clean and simple yet fun look was a challenge. In the end Joanna created an elegant invitation with spontaneous elements such as her adorable dogs, who ended up on the RSVP card.

Meet Julie and Joanna of Smudge Design at The Wedding Show this January.
