On Set With Catherine Langlois

I had the wonderful opportunity yesterday to hang out on set at a photo shoot for Toronto designer Catherine Langlois. Not only did I get see Catherine’s stunning new bridal collection but I also got to take a peek into her ivory tower: a beautiful studio on the top floor of her three-storey home.

For her most recent shoot, Catherine brought together a solid crew with a strong family connection (her husband, Rob, was the photographer while Katie, her niece, acted as model). Also on hand were makeup artist Kerry Ohana and hairstylist Kristopher Long from Civello Rosedale. It was a lovely morning and I felt lucky to be surrounded by such a talented team — not to mention some truly breathtaking gowns.

O&B Takes Over Arcadian Court

The Oliver & Bonacini group has an extensive selection of restaurants that would make great venues for hosting your wedding. Auberge du Pommier, for instance, boasts an intimate, French-country feel, while Canoe — on the 54th floor of Toronto’s TD Tower — offers a more contemporary vibe with sweeping city views.

The company has recently added to new spots to its roster: the historic Arcadian Court in Toronto’s Hudson’s Bay flagship store (it seats up to 500 people!), as well as the rustic-chic Windermere House in Muskoka.

We’ve always been a fan of O&B’s spectacular meals, but we’re excited that they were also involved in upgrading and restoring Arcadian Court. They’ve also taken over the food service at all three restaurants at Windermere House. And they’ll be the event managers at both new venues, which means you’re in good hands throughout the planning process, from initial meeting to the moment your last guest goes home.

The Arcadian Court will be closed for renovations starting January 2012 and will reopen in April 2012.
