Cakes Fit For A Gallery

Yesterday we featured a fun, Egyptian-themed cake by Ida Thibeh Wiese of Sweet Sweets. When I saw Ida’s work for the first time last year, I was struck by her unique vision and the sculptural qualities of her designs. Not only does she create pieces that look like sculpture but she actually treats them like sculpture by photographing them in a gallery and giving them the respect they deserve.

Ida’s designs run the gamut from traditional tiered cakes to stunning cylinder-shaped inventions to whimsical winter wedding-themed mini cakes. But her common goal is to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for every couple that passes through her door.
