Hip Hop Wedding

I am always thrilled to see couples take a passion they share and tastefully incorporate it into their wedding. Sarah Sedo and Kenneth Gamage did just that at their April wedding.

Sarah and Kenneth wanted to incorporate their love of 90s hip hop into their wedding and so they asked some of their artist friends to draw a reinterpretation of ten of their favourite hip hop album covers to mark the tables at their reception. Once the artist had finished drawing the cover Ken would complete each one by writing the name of the album in the same font as they the couple had designed for their wedding invitations.

The couple went as far as to try and seat guests at tables that related to the album name; for example, Ken’s parents’ table was called The Main Ingredient.

The sketches were so well received that at the end of the night, when the guests were told they could take them home, they were almost fighting in the aisles.

P.S. I always ask the couple what their most memorable moment was and I just love Sarah and Ken’s response: “Putting our feet up, relaxing, wearing robes and eating the wedding dinner leftovers in our hotel after it was all said and done.”
