A Family Wedding On A Family Estate

Greenery and gold create a lovely warm feeling at Jacob & Chantelle’s wedding.

Jasmine Carriere of All That Jaz Weddings shares the details about Jacob & Chantelle’s wedding they celebrated with their son Jaxson.

“Jacob and Chantelle met in their hometown of Owen Sound, ON, in 2006 at the age of 15 through mutual friends. It wasn’t until they were into their twenties that their friendship blossomed into a beautiful love story. In August of 2015, Jacob surprised Chantelle with a trip to Chicago where he proposed after dinner on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building.

I met with J&C in the spring of 2016 after their son, Jaxson, was born to begin planning their wedding. Their vision was to have a charming hometown celebration with a focus on the natural surroundings of Chantelle’s family estate. Above all, they wanted their guests to feel welcomed as if J&C were hosting them in their very own home.

We had the property groomed for the wedding and chose September as the trees surrounding the property would be in the process of changing colour and the fields would be glowing in a golden tone.

Special touches included using a canoe for beer service during cocktail hour, a local acoustic guitar player for ceremony and cocktail hour, vintage cars for the groomsmen, photos of beloved family members who had passed away, their dog, Maxie, joined the bride down the aisle as well as their beautiful son. My favourite part of all the personal touches was the ceremony. They had their closest friend of 15 + years marry them. The ceremony was full of humour and raw emotion as C&J declared their personal vows to each other and their son. There wasn’t a dry eye in site.

We used greenery, a variety of gold votives and Edison bulb lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the wedding. Intentional simplicity was key into designing the tent. The head table backdrop was simplistic as we lifted the tent sides to face the golden field during sunset for their guests to enjoy. The bar was built by Chantelle’s 16 year old cousin as a wedding gift which was another personal touch to their day.

On the wedding day, J&C were both so calm. Their first look is one I will never forget. She so naturally met his gaze in full confidence of who she was about to spend forever with. He was overwhelmed by her beauty. It was love in full view.”
