A Multicultural Affair At Airship 37
From the flowers, to the cake, to the fabric envelopes, Yvonne & Kevin’s wedding was a true family affair.
Toronto wedding photographers, A Brit and a Blonde, sent us this multicultural affair that took place at Airship 37 in downtown Toronto. Here is their description of this wonderful couple and their amazing day.
“As urban dwellers, Yvonne & Kevin wanted a downtown venue, a place that they could add their own personal touches and really make it their own. Airship 37 was so perfect for that.
They both have style for miles, so it comes as no surprise that on their wedding day they would be looking every inch dapper to the dapperist degree. They wore traditional Chinese Cheongsam and Changshan in red and in gold – the colours popped incredibly well against our downtown Toronto backdrops.
Yvonne & Kevin created a lot of the décor and details themselves along with their friends and family. The circle garlands that hung from the ceiling, were created by the bride and her friends at a bridal craft tea party.- such a fun idea! Her uncle, aunt and cousin helped create the photo wall. All the photos were mounted on card stock and hung from clothespins covered in coloured fabric tape.
The fabric pockets which housed the invitations were sewn by Yvonne’s mom. The quilt squares for guests to sign instead of a guestbook are in the process of being sewing into a quilt by the bride herself.
Even the wedding cake, yummy dessert table and flowers were done by friends and family. And of course the fun Scrabble elements for the table numbers and seating arrangements were all done by Yvonne. Not to mention the fun Chinese take out boxes for the guest favors which contained Jamaican Rum Cake and Chinese tea”
