The Wedding Co. Spring Show Highlights

Last Saturday, with the Drake Hotel, we hosted our 4th annual The Wedding Co. Spring Show.

From 10am-4pm, we welcomed newly engaged couples and the industry to meet 40 exceptionally talented and innovative wedding suppliers who showcased their designs and services.

The show had everything, from the electric bus to sweet snow cones, with planners giving away DIY garlands and fashion forward accessories – the brides swooned. There were emerald cakes, laser-cut place cards, and videos making mothers tear up.

Thank-you to everyone who attended, to the wonderful group of exhibitors, to TWC staff, and of course, to our loyal sponsors, the Drake Hotel and Event Rental Group.

Monique Lhuillier at William Ashley

Last Wednesday, brides-to-be and industry leaders gathered to meet renowned fashion designer Monique Lhuillier and find out her thoughts on modern-day registry.

William Ashley set the stage. While sipping Rotkappchen sparking wine and enjoying champagne-flavoured cupcakes from Cake Opera Co., guests gazed at the beautiful Lhuillier gowns provided by White Toronto as models floated through the store.

Surrounded by stunning floral bouquets by Lilium, The Wedding Co.’s Catherine Lash interviewed Monique about her new collection for Waterford and asked her thoughts on how couples should embrace the registry process.

Monique encouraged couples to register for a variety of items, from formal dining wear to unique stand-alone pieces, and told them to utilize the experts at William Ashley for guidance. She recommended they choose the patterns that fit with their lifestyle, and not to worry about mixing formal with casual.

But the most important piece of advice was, do not be afraid to use and love your new gifts. Whether you are enjoying a quiet breakfast together on a Sunday morning, or are entertaining a large group, make every moment together special.

Thank-you to Rebecca Wood Photography for capturing this very special evening.
