Back by popular demand.
The Wedding Co.’s Catherine Lash was on CHCH TV Morning Live this morning, talking about a popular feature from The Wedding Co. Magazine (also, a sought-after topic on the blog): Brides Biggest Regrets. Here is the blog post again, if you missed it.
Last fall, The Wedding Co. invited six newly-married women to the new Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto, to find out firsthand the ups and downs of planning and hosting their weddings.
With guest lists of 3 to 650, they shared their brilliant advice, that you can use as you plan your day, including their… biggest regret.
Diane: My uncle pulled me aside and said ‘I want to have a dance with you.’ I wish I’d done that with all my uncles to create special moments. It was really hard to balance seeing everyone, especially people I don’t see often.
Corinne: Using an iPod instead of a deejay. We thought we could make a playlist and people would dance and enjoy themselves. They did, but the evening just wasn’t as cohesive. A good deejay can bring a lot of energy to the atmosphere.
Sherri: I should have thought more about the photos I wanted. Our photographer did what we asked for — lots of candids — but I would love to have pictures of everybody and to have more group photos.
Michelle: Putting so much money into one day. We bought a house and wanted to renovate but we couldn’t do as much as we wanted because so much of our finances were used for the wedding.
Jessie: Leaving so quickly for our honeymoon, because I didn’t get a chance to revel in the wedding. I wish I had gone out with my girlfriends once before we left so they could tell me how wonderful it was!
Alyssa: The dry cleaner damaged my wedding dress. It was custom-made, and I was super-attached to it. After spending so much time being meticulous about everything else, I wish I had driven the extra miles to have it specially cleaned.
