Farm To Table Wedding Flowers

For sustainably minded couples.

Meet Sas Long, owner and head flower girl at Floralora Flowers in Prince Edward County. Floralora is a sustainable flower farm committed to providing a wide range of locally grown flowers and foliage for weddings, events and for every day beauty.

We asked Sas to answer a few questions about using a flower farm for weddings and here is what she had to say.

1. What services do you offer to couples planning a wedding?
We offer full service, a la carte and bulk flower options for weddings in Prince Edward County and Bulk flowers to weddings in Toronto.

2. What are the benefits of buying from a local flower farm?
There are so many benefits to buying from a local flower farm for your wedding! You get to have flowers that reflect the season you are getting married, you know your flowers are of the freshest and highest quality and have been grown without the use of chemicals, you get more unusual, interesting flowers. We can custom grow things for your wedding and you can rest assured that you are lessening the environmental footprint of your special day.

3. Can couples purchase flowers from you and design their own bouquets and centrepieces? What are the benefits of this and what should they be aware of?
Yes! We offer a bulk bucket option for couples who are on a budget or who just love designing flowers and want to do their own. Couples can purchase mixed or colour specific buckets that come with a variety of different kinds of flowers to work with. This is a great option for some couples, but be sure you will have enough time and help to put together your vision!

4. What do you love most about working on weddings?

I love seeing a couple’s vision come together from concept right through to their big day. It’s great to work with people on a design vision, hammer out all of the details, big and small together and see it all come through to fruition for their day. I also have a special soft spot for couples who want to use bold, fun colours in their wedding! These are the most exciting to design!
