A Wedding At Mildred’s Temple Kitchen

Suzy and Jeremy love to entertain so making sure their guests were well fed and comfortable was a priority. The venue they chose to have their ceremony and reception was Mildred’s Temple Kitchen in Liberty Village. The venue was small enough to keep their celebration intimate but large enough to accommodate a dance floor so their guests could dance the night away.

Suzy and Jeremy couldn’t have asked for more it was a beautiful, warm, November day and the guests were able to enjoy Mildred’s gourmet comfort food and patio late into the night.

We had the pleasure of having Melissa and Morgan, owners, designers and the pastry chef’s behind Bucket and Whisk at The Spring Wedding Show this year. Bucket and Whisk is a full service sweet able company providing flavourful, functional and fabulous sweet tables for all celebrations.

Not only do they make fabulous cakes and cookies they will make their own lollipops and candy floss, yummy!

Shawna & Daniel Got Hitched in Palm Springs!

The save the dates were sent, the venue deposit paid but something wasn’t right.

Toronto couple Shawna and Daniel had planned a wedding for 150 guests at a camp in Muskoka Once they started planning the details they realized a big wedding wasn’t what they wanted so they quickly called off the plans and booked two tickets to California.

The couple decided the city they got engaged in, Palm Springs, was where they wanted to host their celebration. Within two weeks they received RSVP’s from the invited eight people, found the appropriate attire and were married. Now that’s a change in plans.

The” it was meant to be moment”. Shawna had seen Our Labour Of Love photographer Heidi Geldhauser’s work on a few blogs and loved it. She knew the chances of Heidi being available on such short notice were slim but called anyway. Well some things are just meant to be, Heidi was available and as you can see the images are stunning.

P.S. Shawna is a hairstylist and did the hair for Liz, one of our real wedding brides featured in the premiere issue of The Wedding Co. Magazine.

The Making Of A Masterpiece

Last Sunday I had the great honour of being one of the judges for the live instructor cake challenge at The Cake Show. Three teams of instructors from the Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Art created stunning towers of frosted art. The theme was Cake as Art and all the teams did an amazing job but as always there is only one winner. Congratulations to Nadia Colella and Marisa Scibetta for their beautiful French impressionist inspired design.

Thank-you to Bonnie Gordon and her team from Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Art for hosting such a beautiful and inspiring show.

Congratulations to Emily Chin who won the gift certificate to the Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Art courtesy of The Wedding Co.

BHLDN Chicago

Toronto photographer Rebecca Wood went to Chicago to visit some friends and couldn’t resist stopping into one of only two BHLDN bricks and mortar locations in existence.

With her great-grandfather’s Polaroid camera and her iPhone, Rebecca created beautiful images of this ‘mecca’ of wedding dresses. It might just inspire you to see when the next Porter flight to Chicago is.
