We asked Wedding Co. member Jen La from JENLA Cakes what was one of her most memorable wedding moments in the past year, here is what she shared with us…
“My most memorable moment has to be the space cake I made for Lauren and James.
Both the Lauren and James are pursuing careers in aerospace engineering so their wedding theme was “Space”. The cake we designed together was intended as a 3D planet Jupiter; however, in striving to stay within their budget, they decided they would be content with just a half-sphere.
A week before the wedding, James dropped off the cake topper that he handmade from clay. It was little versions of themselves in astronaut suits; names hand painted in tiny letters, little backpacks, and cute helmets. It was obvious how much time, attention and love went into these figurines; it was truly heartwarming.
As a wedding gift and surprise for the couple, I decided to make them that fully round, 3D, spherical Jupiter cake that we originally designed. A lot of extra ingredients and extra time went into it but I was so touched by all work they put into their cake toppers that I felt this couple truly deserved to have the most spectacular cake!”
