Steam Whistle Wedding

Who says you can’t do burgundy in the summer?

Not only are Alex and Jon beautiful, kind humans, but their wedding had so much personalized style and DIY details. They wanted a day that represented their urban, contemporary style, and they certainly achieved it. They had it at their favourite brewery, Steam Whistle!

First were all the DIY elements. Alex designed the invitations, menus and signage herself! She had her future sister and law do her makeup, friends do her hair and spectacular cake. Alex said it wasn’t hard to collect a bunch of empty Steam Whistle bottles to incorporate into the decor.

They are big travellers, so their seating chart and guest book represented all the places they’ve been together,

Jon works on trains, so it was only fitting that we feature the trains that surround the Steam Whistle in the photographs.

And then there was all the amazing attire, from Alex’s contemporary Nicole Miller dress, to the suspenders, to Jon’s custom burgundy suit, to the gorgeous mix and matched blush bridesmaids dresses.

The day began at Toronto’s historic Royal York, and the groomsman walked through the downtown to get to the venue for the ceremony. Alex was a little nervous so opted for a traditional reveal, walking down the aisle to her future husband. The rest is history.
