The Marble Trend Continues

Beautiful swirls and attention to detail.

Janet Ma, planner, creative director and stylist behind Janet Ma Weddings & Events describes her love of marble and the inspiration behind this swirling style shoot.

“Marble has been one of the biggest trends in the last couple of years, not only in the wedding industry, but also in many other industries including home décor, interior design, fashion, and jewellery.

I feel that the joining of two different coloured swirls to make a marble pattern is similar to the joining of two different people to make a family together and am confident this trend will continue.

In this shoot I wanted to focus on the small details. Each item plays its part and was purposefully placed there for a reason. On the head table, you will see marble details throughout including marble taper and tea light candleholders, gold tea light candle holders placed upon a round piece of marble and marble tableware. I mixed in different textures to keep the table looking interesting. I added in a grey chiffon table runner to mix in a very soft, flowing texture, yet you can also see swirl-like textures on the table runner, mimicking the marble pattern.

Cathy from Flour & Flower Cake Design created a stunning cake table that was able to match my vision of mixing marble details with different textures. You can see this on the cakes that she created, where she includes smooth surfaces mixed with ruffles, cracks and lines.

The cake table was placed on a bar with a marble vinyl created by Luxe Modern Rentals which completed the look. My favourite part of the cake table was the small ghost chairs we placed at the front with macarons on top of them to match the ghost chairs that we used for the head table.

May Flower Studio understood this vision, so you will see that the floral arrangements that were created had many different types of shapes and textures. Roses were mixed with different types of greenery and grass to create that look.

The ceremony backdrop was also created as a floral installation directly on the wall versus traditional arches or chuppahs. On the installation we used textured greenery and grasses mixed with candles to create a softer and more minimalistic look.

The two dresses, jewellery and hair pieces provided by Ferre Sposa were all very simple with exquisite detaiL, completed with a soft but glam look by Blushing Belles which perfected the whole styled shoot.”
