One of the reasons I like the internet is the ability to watch videos, The Wedding Co. is starting to explore more ‘moving pictures’ from couples and industry members alike. Coming from a still photography background I am quite drawn to videos that actually use both still and moving images.
I came across a save the date video and thought it was a great idea, then I searched Google for “save the date videos” and found people have been doing them for quite some time.
I love the idea of producing a fun, well thought out video as a couple – what a creative and entertaining activity to do together!
Here is Jeremie and Simone Fazel’s Save the Date/Invitation dance video:
A note from Jeremie:
We’re honored that our video caught your attention … I work in TV, in Paris, as a director and producer on different french factual entertainment shows. Every time (we attend) a good friend’s wedding, instead of writing a speech, I prepare a little film dedicated to the bride and the groom.
Simone, who is now my wife, is Australian, she works in Paris as a Physiotherapist. She is the one who really insisted that we make a wedding invitation/”Save the Date” Video. So one night, we brainstormed; we recorded Simone’s voice over for the film and practiced our fun dance in our living room. During the weekend, with the help of a friend, we filmed everything.
The video was sent via vimeo.com to all our guests with a password… it was a huge hit! Everybody knew the lyrics by heart (they still do), and at our wedding, guests asked us to do the dance, so we taught them the moves… After the wedding, we put it on Youtube and Dailymotion, we even got called by a French TV (station) to put it on air.
Some people now call me to have their wedding invitation done, and some companies want me to organise group videos as a team building activity… which I’m happy to do !
