“I grew up near the Eglinton Grand –- it was my local movie theatre. When it came time to look for venues … it happened to be the second place we saw and Paul and I were both so impressed, we stopped looking anywhere else. Once we had established that location we couldn’t help but be inspired by the Deco feel of the theatre. While we didn’t want a theme wedding, we did want to carry forward the both the elegance and fun (they weren’t called the roaring twenties for nothing!) of the Art Deco era. As it turned out, a few little touches were all that were necessary and these came together mostly by accident.” Emily

“I tried on a few dresses before finding “the one”, which just happened to be a 1930s-inspired design. We wanted to give our attendants something special and found amazing 100” hand-knotted pearl necklaces that, when paired with simple black silk gowns, felt very “flapper”. The last touch was my necklace: everyone was asking if it was vintage –- I’ll never tell! Having the men in classic black bow ties also helped pull it together.”
