Claudia Hung, a Toronto-based editorial and wedding photographer, brings the old tradition of high-key lighting to modern weddings.

I loved Claudia’s Portraits On White the minute I saw them. When I had the opportunity to be in one and later saw how flawless my skin looked, I loved the series even more and knew I had to share them with you.

When asked why she has chosen high-key lighting for her photobooth, which she brings to her events, Claudia replied, “It’s timeless, flattering and there are no shadows. Guests love posing for them and have ordered them for their own save–the–date cards or wedding announcements because they are so becoming.”

Claudia has taken her years of editorial photography and brought it to her weddings, photobooth and engagement sessions. Her ability to use light in unique ways is a sign of experience and confidence — traits everyone should look for in a wedding photographer.

I just loved Aimee and Colin’s wedding when I first saw it on Green Wedding Shoes, not only is the venue and design of the event gorgeous, but there is a ton of very pretty text elements, from the labels on the couple’s chairs to the stacks of hardcover books as centrepieces down the long harvest tables. Watch the video for a load of great ideas to incorporate text into your wedding, I picked a few of my favourite images as well.

Check out the structure the groom built for the wedding.

To finish up this week, a short film showing how important song and music are to all cultural celebrations. How meaningful ceremonial and traditional music can be to a wedding and how much joy can come from experiencing that music amongst friends and family.

After last week’s gush over ranunculus, consider this a follow-up to spring flowers in white as we turn the spotlight to it’s cousin, the delightfully pretty anemone.

Don’t you just love this Chanel equestrian-inspired shoot? I think the navy-centred white anemone beautifully complements the delicately textured white gown:

Gorgeous Gardenia Cake

This beautifully soft gardenia cake was just created for an event at the Gardiner Museum, the white flowers look like they’d be as sweetly scented as the real deal and be as delicate to the touch. Designer Allyson Meredith (Bobbette & Belle) says of working with white cakes that they can be a challenge to make them interesting, but by keeping it simple and allowing the flowers to speak for themselves that they often turn out looking very chic.

Happy Early Valentine’s Day… I just love this window display by Lauren Gallagher for Booksmith, a book store in San Francisco. To create her piles and the wall of ‘aged’ envelopes, she’s tinted them with coffee and two colours of tie dye … there really is nothing like getting good mail, and whether it’s a valentine or a wedding invite, how absolutely delightful is it to come home and have something pretty waiting for us at the end of the day?
