Wes Anderson Inspired Style Shoot
Loving this bright style shoot created by an equally vibrant group of Toronto wedding professionals is for the couple looking for creative inspiration and wh are willing to take a chance and have some fun!
Planner and stylist Sidra Ahmad from Ruby Refined Events describes the inspiration for this colourful shoot.
“Toronto is home to a thriving arts and culture scene. We wanted to create a styled shoot for the modern Toronto couple who loves cinema and who live and play in neighbourhoods like Parkdale, The Junction, and Roncesvalles.
Our shoot was inspired by Wes Anderson’s “The Darjeeling Limited”, set on a train travelling through India. The new Drake Commissary was the perfect setting for our shoot with its mix of bright colours, contemporary style, and artistic exhibits.
Currently displayed at the Commissary is Alex McLeod’s 2017 painting “Ancient Hills”, which, combined with the vibrant florals by Coquette Studios, whimsical stationery by Brooklin Paper Co., and gorgeous turquoise seating at the Drake, instantly transported us to Wes Anderson’s India.
A bar cart was styled with brass lanterns, eclectic accents, bright florals and vintage travel pieces to highlight the Drake Commissary’s scrumptious wedding cake and desserts. We hope this shoot inspires Toronto couples from all cultures to take creative chances when planning their wedding day.”
