Welcome to the one of The Wedding Co.’s newest members, Christine and Sarah from Yorkshire Pudding. We asked the ladies a few questions about their boutique Toronto catering company to help you get to know them.

1. How would you describe your company?
We are a boutique caterer offering fresh, elegant and approachable foods. We pair that with exceptional onsite staff and a personalized customer service experience to make sure each wedding reception is a success in every way.

2. What makes your company unique?
A lot of clients tell us our hands-on, prompt and flexible approach to customer service is far superior to that of the competition. We know our couples want a wonderful wedding – we want to make sure that the journey getting there is equally as wonderful. We try to take as much stress as possible out of the planning process and are always happy to tailor-make menus to reflect our clients’ unique tastes and needs.

3. What is your favourite dish on your menu right now?
We are currently obsessed with one of our hors d’oeuvres: Ontario smoked trout on handcut potato chip, parsnip puree, preserved lemon and horseradish. In our mind it is the perfect bite – something savory, salty, sweet and spicy – all in one mouthful!

4. What is it about feeding a couple and their friends and family that you love?
Naturally, we feel that the food served at a wedding is an integral part of every reception’s success. The menu a couple chooses should be an expression of their exclusive tastes. Maybe we offer the dessert they shared on their first date at the wedding? Perhaps there is a culturally-significant dish that we can incorporate into the menu?
The type of foodservice will also impact other areas of wedding planning such as rental selection and tablescape design. Pulling all these elements together for our couples is always a highlight and we simply love seeing our clients’ vision come to life on the big day.

5. What should couples expect when they meet you at the show?
Christine (Executive Chef) and I (Sarah Locke – Event Coordinator) will both be onsite to answer any and all catering questions. For many couples, their wedding will be the first time having to deal with a caterer and know that having to feed a crowd can seem overwhelming. We would be happy to discuss the various types of food services available (no longer are wedding receptions confined to sit-down dinners!), provide ball park costing and of course, answer any questions about our favourite topic: Food!
Our booth will also include some visuals of our previous work – and hopefully a bite or two for guests who pop by!
