Marrying couples in a way that is special for them.

Q & A with Cyndy Neilly-Spence, Wedding Officiant

What inspired you to start your business?

The ceremony should be a meaningful part of your wedding day, not a “have-to” element where your names are dropped into a pre-set template. I take the time to get to know your story as a couple; it is an amazing way to make your ceremony just that – your ceremony!

What do you love about weddings?

I might be a bit biased, but I love the ceremony - it is the beginning of a couple’s marriage! It is the perfect place to make your wedding day unique and should be one of the most memorable moments of the day. Whether your wedding is casual and intimate or formal with many guests, the ceremony is the reason everyone is invited. You begin the ceremony as two single individuals and when it’s complete, you are a married couple!

How would you describe your style?

As a professional, I am always well prepared for your ceremony. I have ticked-off everything on our ceremony to-do list and ensure that you are prepared as well. We will review your ceremony in advance, so you will know how it will unfold – this will help lessen those pre-ceremony jitters! Once the ceremony begins, I have a relaxed approach with the intention of keeping you relaxed. There will be lots of smiles, sometimes some chuckles and likely a misty eye or two. I will guide you gently through the ceremony as we’ve designed it; you don’t have to remember anything – just relax and enjoy becoming married!

What sets you apart from everyone else?

As a Life-Cycle Celebrant, I have extensive training in the art of ceremony design and I am registered to perform marriage ceremonies in Ontario. I collaborate with couples to create a ceremony that is meaningful and sets the perfect tone to cascade into the reception. Together we will make your ceremony an unforgettable part of your wedding day - meaningful ceremonies create beautiful memories.

Do you have any interesting facts we can share?

If you’re interested in having your ceremony during the week (Monday to Thursday), I offer special rates and can be booked on shorter notice – this is often of interest to couples planning a destination wedding or established couples becoming legally married to support an international job transfer. One of the easiest ways to have your marriage registered in Ontario is to be married here. Your ceremony will still be heartfelt and meaningful!
